Since our experiment was about the growth and survival of American bullfrog tadpoles in pondwater/solutions of different pH values, we decided to let 65 tadpoles live in the control pondwater and 12 other different solutions with the pH values as 4.0, 5.5, 7.0, 8.5, 10.0. We used round bottomed plastic containers to contain the pondwater/solutions and put five 3 week old tadpoles each in of them.

Apparatus used:

13 round bottomed containers (9 cm in diameter)

65 3 week old American bullfrog tadpoles

Acids: Hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulphuric acid

Alkalis: Ammonium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide

Pondwater

Tadpole feed (given by the Jurong Frog Farm)
