| This project is an attempt to find out whether the pH value (acidity/alkalinity of the pondwater/solution) will affect the growth and survival of the American Bullfrog tadpoles. We predicted that the more extreme the pH values, the more the tadpoles' growth will be stunted. This is because the more acidic or alkaline a solution is, the more corrosive and probably more poisonous it will be. Growth will most likely be stunted due to an unsuitable habitat. We also expected some tadpoles to die due to the acidity, alkalinity, or chemical properties of the solution. Through the research and experiments we conducted, we have concluded that tadpoles can grow and survive well in pond-water (pH 7.0) without any chemicals added. But our results may not be accurate due to insufficient time and resources to cary out more experiments over a longer span of time, which would give us more precise results. | ||||||||||||||||
